NEET Re-Exam in Tamil Nadu Concludes Peacefully; Students Find Physics Most Challenging

Chennai, June 22: The NEET re-examination in Tamil Nadu took place peacefully on Sunday. Students reported that the Physics section was the most difficult, while the Biology section was comparatively easier.

Approximately 142,000 candidates participated in the exam, which was conducted under tight security due to previous allegations of paper leaks that led to the cancellation of the original NEET exam.

The examination was held simultaneously across around 5,500 centers in 551 cities nationwide, concluding at 5:15 PM.

As students exited the exam centers, many expressed concerns about the difficulty of the paper, given the controversies surrounding the original exam. However, some felt that while the questions appeared straightforward at first glance, the paper was not entirely easy.

K. Arun Prakash, a NEET candidate from Chennai, stated that the Biology section was the easiest among the three subjects. He remarked, “Most of the Biology questions were direct and syllabus-based. Chemistry was a bit challenging, but Physics required more time and focus.”

Candidates noted that the Physics section included numerous analytical and numerical questions that demanded careful calculations, making it the most time-consuming part of the exam.

The Chemistry section featured a mix of concept-based and application-oriented questions, while most students considered Biology to be scoring.

Several candidates compared the re-exam to the canceled one, stating that the previous paper was relatively easier. One candidate mentioned, “We expected the re-exam to be very tough due to the circumstances under which it was conducted. While it was manageable, it was definitely more challenging than the last exam, especially in Physics.”

Students appreciated the additional 15 minutes given for the exam, which helped them review their answers and manage their time better.

Despite this, officials and parents waiting outside observed that a significant number of candidates completed the exam ahead of schedule and submitted their answer sheets.

The examination was conducted smoothly across Tamil Nadu without any major disruptions.

Authorities maintained strict security measures at the centers to ensure fairness, which included enhanced monitoring and verification processes.

With the re-exam now concluded, candidates are awaiting announcements regarding the provisional answer key and the evaluation process from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
