New Delhi, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday during the 137th episode of his monthly radio program, ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ He emphasized the importance of the Drug-Free India campaign.
PM Modi stated, “The ‘Drug-Free Youth for Developed India’ initiative is rapidly gaining momentum across the country. Its goal is clear – a drug-free youth leads to a drug-free India. Many individuals, especially our youth, are actively participating in this movement. After all, this is our collective commitment to the health, happiness, and bright future of India’s youth.”
The Prime Minister pointed out that addiction does not only affect the individual but also has repercussions for families and society as a whole. He praised those who raise awareness against drugs and assist individuals struggling with addiction.
PM Modi called on the nation’s youth, artists, and content creators to take an active role in this campaign. He asked, “Can you create a powerful slogan for a drug-free India? Can our young musicians compose songs that convey the message of a drug-free life? Can students and theater groups write touching short plays that highlight the dangers of drugs and provide pathways to recovery?”
He noted that the country has no shortage of talented content creators who can produce material in various languages to aid society in this endeavor. He also encouraged people to share their efforts on social media using specific hashtags.
PM Modi remarked, “Sometimes, creative efforts can be more impactful than formal campaigns.” He appealed to everyone, saying, “Let us all play our part in keeping India’s youth away from drugs and contributing to this noble cause. Be sure to share your efforts on social media with the hashtag #DrugFreeYouth.”
