
Tashkent, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a yoga session organized by the Yoga Federation of Uzbekistan on Sunday. During the session, he interacted with the participants present.
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Uzbekistan on a two-day visit. He expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome he received at Tashkent Airport.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited the ‘Yangi Uzbekistan Memorial’ and remarked that it symbolizes the aspirations and progress of the Uzbek people.
He shared on the social media platform ‘X’, “Upon arriving in Tashkent, I paid tribute at the ‘Yangi Uzbekistan Memorial’ alongside President Mirziyoyev. This memorial represents the aspirations and progress of the Uzbek people. I am happy to start my journey here.”
At Yangi Uzbekistan Park, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev accompanied Prime Minister Modi. Both leaders observed artifacts that showcase Uzbek culture and history. A large number of the Indian community in Tashkent also welcomed Prime Minister Modi.
The Prime Minister noted that the Indian diaspora serves as a vibrant bridge between India and Uzbekistan.
He expressed on ‘X’, “I am overwhelmed by the love and affection from the Indian community in Tashkent. Our diaspora is a living bridge between India and Uzbekistan, strengthening the friendship between our two nations.”
During the welcome ceremony, he appreciated the cultural programs that blended Indian and Uzbek traditions. He stated that these performances reflect the deep cultural ties between the two countries.
He also shared a glimpse of a tabla performance on ‘X’, writing, “A mesmerizing fusion of Indian and Uzbek musical traditions! The tabla beautifully complements the doira and chang, showcasing the deep cultural connections between India and Uzbekistan.”
Some women from the Indian community tied rakhi on Prime Minister Modi during their meeting.
