Gaya, 22 August (Kiran News): During his scheduled visit to Gaya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday facilitated the house entry of nearly 16,000 beneficiaries under the “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana” for both rural and urban areas. On stage, the Prime Minister symbolically handed over new house keys to some beneficiaries. He also laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹13,000 crore, covering sectors like railways, roads, energy, health, housing, and water supply.

Earlier, through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi flagged off the Gaya-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express and the Vaishali-Koderma Buddhist Circuit train. He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects worth ₹13,000 crore by pressing a remote button. These projects span railways, roads, energy, health, housing, and water supply.
The ₹13,000 crore package for Bihar includes the inauguration of a six-lane bridge in Begusarai, a 660 MW thermal power plant in Buxar, the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur, and the four-laning of the Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section of National Highway-31 (NH-31).
Additionally, under the Namami Gange programme, the package covers a sewage treatment plant (STP) and sewerage network scheme in Munger, water supply projects in Aurangabad, Bodh Gaya, and Jehanabad, the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, the Buddhist Circuit train between Vaishali and Koderma, and house entry for 16,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
