Varanasi, April 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the second day of his visit to Kashi with a grand 14-kilometer road show, culminating in a ceremonial worship at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. During the event, he greeted devotees while showcasing a trident and damru, symbolizing his connection to the divine.
Modi shared his experience on the social media platform X, posting several images with the caption “Har Har Mahadev.” In his post, he expressed, “I had the privilege of visiting the Baba Vishwanath Temple in Kashi. Here, I prayed for the prosperity and health of all citizens. The blessings of Maa Annapurna and Maa Ganga brought immense peace. May everyone be infused with positive energy through their grace! I bow once again to the people of Kashi.”
The Prime Minister’s convoy left the BLW Guest House, passing through Manduwadih, Police Line, Lahurabir, Maidagin, and Chowk before reaching the Kashi Vishwanath Dham. The streets of Kashi were filled with enthusiastic crowds during the road show. Modi greeted the devotees again with the trident and damru, igniting excitement among the attendees. As he arrived at the temple’s entrance, young boys welcomed him with conch shell sounds amidst chants of “Har-Har Mahadev.”
Upon entering the temple complex, Modi was honored with a traditional worship ceremony conducted by the chief priest and four others, following the Shodashopachara ritual. Inside the sanctum, he performed an abhishekam while chanting mantras, praying for the prosperity of the nation. Tight security measures were in place throughout the temple complex during his visit.
Modi also took time to interact with children, asking them questions that brought smiles to their faces. Devotees present at the temple were visibly excited to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister, continuously greeting him. A large number of students gathered at the welcome site near the Banaras Railway Station, holding posters with messages for Modi. They mentioned bringing small gifts to present to him.
Throughout the route, BJP workers and local residents welcomed the Prime Minister with flower showers, drums, and conch sounds. The enthusiasm was palpable among NCC cadets and women as well.
