Ajmer: Two miscreants attacked a petrol pump employee in the Ramganj area of Ajmer after filling petrol. When employee Mukesh demanded payment, the attackers brutally assaulted him, causing serious injuries to his head and hand. One accused, Iqbal, fled with Rs 9,340 in cash while the other was caught on the spot and handed over to police.

Complete Details of the Incident: The incident occurred on Friday night at a BP petrol pump located in the Ramganj police station area of Ajmer. Employee Mukesh, son of Bhanwarlal (aged approximately 25-30 years), a resident of Dumda village, was on duty at the pump. He had been working at this petrol station for several months. During the night shift, two suspicious young men arrived on a bike to fill petrol. They got their tank filled but started making excuses instead of paying.

When Mukesh asked for payment, both miscreants got angry. Initially, they hurled abuses, and when Mukesh insisted, the situation escalated to physical violence. Both attackers assaulted Mukesh with sticks and rods. The attack left Mukesh with a deep wound on his head and a fracture-like serious injury to his right hand. The injuries were so severe that Mukesh collapsed to the ground. The attackers not only beat him up but also looted Rs 9,340 in cash from the petrol pump counter.

One Miscreant Arrested, Another Absconding: During the assault, other employees present at the petrol pump and nearby people raised an alarm. This panicked one of the miscreants who tried to flee from the scene, but other employees caught him. The escaped miscreant has been identified as Iqbal (aged 20-22 years), reportedly a local resident, and some cash was recovered from him.

The second person was immediately handed over to the Ramganj police station. Iqbal took advantage of the situation, looted Rs 9,340, and fled on the bike. However, police suspect he is an accomplice of the other person. The Ramganj police team is conducting raids to search for the absconding accused. CCTV footage is also being examined, which clearly shows the faces of both miscreants.

Victim’s Condition and Police Action: Injured Mukesh was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Ajmer, where doctors stitched his head wound and put a plaster on his hand. His condition is reported to be stable, but complete recovery may take at least a week. As soon as Mukesh was discharged from the hospital, he filed a report at Ramganj police station. The case has been registered under sections of assault, robbery, and theft.

The Ramganj police station in-charge stated that the arrested accused Iqbal is being interrogated. He has been involved in petty crimes before. Road blockades have been set up in surrounding areas to search for the absconding miscreant. Police say the second accused will be arrested soon. This incident has created panic among local people, especially raising questions about the security of petrol pumps during night hours.
