
New Delhi, March 29: The Shahdara district police have successfully returned 1,600 stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners as part of Operation Trust. The event was attended by several officials, including Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Ajit Kumar Singla, DCP Shahdara Rajendra Prasad Meena, and Additional DCP.
Joint CP Dr. Ajit Singla emphasized that mobile phones serve as a lifeline for the public. When stolen, they cause significant distress. He expressed satisfaction at seeing the joy on many faces today and praised the Shahdara district police for their commendable work in recovering the lost devices.
Dr. Singla noted that most of the recovered phones were snatched, and the police managed to retrieve them safely. He commended the efforts of the DCP Shahdara team, technical teams, and all police stations involved in locating the 1,600 stolen phones, with 320 already returned to their owners.
“It feels great to see happiness on people’s faces. I hope we can continue this good work in the future and recover even more stolen mobile phones for the public,” he stated.
Those who received their lost phones back displayed clear joy. One individual shared that his phone was snatched, and after filing a complaint at the Shahdara police station, he had to wait several days but was ultimately reunited with his device. He praised the Delhi police for their efforts.
A driver recounted that his phone was also stolen, but he received it back today, seven months after the incident. He expressed gratitude for the police’s dedication to their work.
Another woman mentioned that her phone was returned within a month, thanks to the relentless efforts of the police. “Thank you very much to the Delhi police,” she said.
