Gujarat BJP Responds to Kejriwals Allegations, Rejects Victim Card Politics

Gandhinagar, April 4: The political clash between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat has intensified. The state BJP unit has dismissed allegations made by AAP’s national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, in a letter addressed to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The BJP labeled these claims as an attempt to mislead the public ahead of local body elections.

During a press conference at the party headquarters in Gandhinagar, BJP’s co-spokesperson and Valsad MP Dhaval Patel stated that the letter from leaders in Delhi is a failed attempt to create confusion among the public.

Kejriwal’s letter claimed that AAP workers are facing action in Gujarat, stating that over 160 activists have been arrested in recent months, with approximately 145 FIRs filed against them. He demanded a meeting with the Chief Minister and mentioned discussions with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the actions taken against AAP workers before the elections.

In response, Dhaval Patel said, “As the local body elections approach, such letters are sent to spread false narratives. The political drama and victim card tactics of this chaotic party will never work in Gujarat.”

He noted that between 2025 and 2026, around 242 individuals associated with AAP were involved in serious crimes, including attempted murder, rioting, and assault, across 39 general offenses in Gujarat.

Patel further alleged that several cases have also been registered against leaders from outside the state. He remarked that whether in Delhi, Punjab, or Goa, creating political drama during elections has become their habit. Playing the victim by throwing ink or shoes at themselves is an old strategy, and it often turns out that these acts are orchestrated by their own workers.

He questioned, “Should criminals be shielded from the Gujarat police and government? Does the rule of law not apply to this party?” He emphasized that if any worker from a political party commits a crime, the Gujarat police will not spare them.

Dhaval Patel accused AAP leaders of previously attacking BJP offices, violating liquor prohibition laws, and throwing shoes at a former state home minister. He stated that a party that supports activist Medha Patkar will never be accepted by the people of Gujarat.

He concluded, “For the past 30 years, the people of Gujarat have trusted the BJP for development and peace, and they will continue to do so in the future. The opposition party will face complete defeat in the upcoming local body elections, while the BJP will achieve a decisive victory.”
