Ambedkarnagar, June 6: Om Prakash Rajbhar, the national president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) and a minister in the Yogi government, launched the ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign in Ambedkarnagar on Friday. During the event, he addressed the ongoing political discourse surrounding law and order in the state.
Rajbhar responded to the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) claims regarding the Ghazipur encounter, which suggested that members of the PDA community face more encounters compared to the upper castes. He remarked that the opposition often makes such allegations, but remains silent when serious crimes are committed by their own party leaders.
He stated, “When SP leaders are involved in the rape of a girl in Kaushambi, they do not raise questions. When that girl is murdered, they do not speak about encounters. In Mau, when four SP leaders kill a Rajbhar, they do not question it. Similarly, in Barabanki, two SP leaders collaborate to murder a Rajbhar, and there are no inquiries. In Deoria, when an SP leader kills Rajkumar Chauhan, they remain silent. They are not commenting on the Surya Chauhan murder case in Ghaziabad because where their voters are involved, the SP chooses not to speak.”
Rajbhar emphasized that when criminals take the law into their own hands, it is the government’s responsibility to act through legal means. He affirmed that the police are doing their job and that strict action is necessary against any criminal.
When asked about the recent protests by the Cockroach People’s Party and their political impact, Rajbhar pointed out that the Election Commission does not recognize any election symbol for a party named Cockroach. He sarcastically noted that such parties exist only in the air and have no real influence. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister has taken on significant issues, earning the public’s trust, which means that such protests will have no effect.
