Notorious Criminal Arrested in Major Police Operation

New Delhi, May 27: The Western District team of the Delhi Police has made a significant breakthrough by arresting a notorious robber accused in over 40 cases. The police recovered ₹13,000 in cash and a scooter used in the crime from the suspect.

The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul, 28, a resident of Uttam Nagar. He faces charges in more than 40 cases related to robbery, snatching, and other crimes. Additionally, he has been declared a wanted criminal in six separate cases by the Delhi Police.

According to police reports, a PCR call was received regarding a robbery incident on the night of May 23, 2026, at around 10:43 PM at the Khyala police station. The investigation was assigned to ASI Ishwari Lal.

The complainant informed the police that he was returning home from Khyala village when a young man on a scooter blocked his path near Patel Chowk in Vishnu Garden. The suspect initially argued with him, then grabbed his shirt and stole ₹15,000 from his pocket before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, a case was registered at the Khyala police station under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation commenced.

During the investigation, the police team reviewed CCTV footage from the area and identified the suspect through technical surveillance. After persistent efforts, they apprehended Rahul.

The police seized ₹13,000 in stolen cash and the scooter used in the crime from the suspect. Further inquiries revealed that Rahul has been involved in criminal activities for an extended period, with over 40 criminal cases registered against him at various police stations in Delhi.

According to police, the suspect has been presented in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody. Western District Police Deputy Commissioner Sharad stated that the investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to determine the suspect’s involvement in other incidents.
