
Beijing, May 27: In a recent welcome ceremony held in China’s capital, Beijing, approximately 5,900 individuals have pre-registered for the 48th World Skills Competition. This includes over 1,400 competitors from 74 countries and regions.
The competition is set to take place in Shanghai from September 22 to 27. Wang Xiaofeng, the Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, stated during the ceremony that he invites skilled youth from around the globe to witness this prestigious moment and participate in the Shanghai Skills Program.
Uhan, the President of WorldSkills International, emphasized that China is fulfilling the core objectives of the WorldSkills competition, playing a vital role in building a skilled nation. The country is integrating international skill standards into its vocational education and training system, continuously strengthening the foundation for developing skilled talents, and broadly promoting the growth of various skilled personnel. This marks a new chapter in China’s skill development.
During the meeting, several foreign guests expressed their hopes of using the WorldSkills competition as an opportunity to enhance skill cooperation with China.
