Chinese Film Screening Program Launched in Cairo During Xi Jinpings Visit

Cairo, September 2: A Chinese film screening program commenced in Cairo on September 1, coinciding with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Egypt. Supported by the Chinese National Film Administration and the Egyptian Film Committee, the event was organized by China Media Group (CMG).

Five Chinese films, including “Pegasus 3,” “Shanchu 13,” “Dear You,” “Boonie Bears: Guardian of the Hidden,” and “Happiness Railway,” will be launched in theaters across Cairo.

This program is set to run for three days, allowing Egyptian audiences to experience the growth of the Chinese film industry and the allure of Chinese civilization through these top films.

Ahmed Badawi, Executive Director of the Egyptian Film Committee, noted that China boasts one of the world’s largest and most vibrant film markets. The country has achieved remarkable success in various areas, including film production, technology application, animation, documentaries, and genre films.

The current program aims not only to bring more Chinese films closer to Egyptian audiences but also to facilitate direct and practical connections between the film industries of both nations. The event provides a platform for filmmakers and film enthusiasts from China and Egypt to discuss topics related to film production and industry development.
