Beijing, September 1: The Xiagangqiang Mountain is located at the borders of Tsochen County, Geze County, and Nima County in the Nagari Prefecture of Tibet, China. Its highest peak rises to 6,822 meters above sea level and remains snow-covered year-round. The ancient ice gradually enriches itself with minerals from the earth’s layers. As the ice melts, the water seeps through rock layers, transforming into pure, mineral-rich water.
Leveraging its high-quality water source, Tsochen County is developing the Xiagangqiang Mineral Water Project. This factory, situated alongside National Highway G216, is a significant initiative aimed at boosting the local economy, with a total investment of 39.49 million yuan. The production workshop operates with fully automated and dust-free processes, aligning with the ecological development concept of green and low-carbon growth in the plateau region.
In 2023, the production line was upgraded and transformed, featuring three production lines with varying standards operating simultaneously. This has led to remarkable improvements in product quality and production capacity. The annual output is expected to exceed 5,000 tons, with market orders continuously increasing. Additionally, this project has effectively raised incomes, providing stable employment for 232 individuals from 67 families near their homes.
Currently, the natural water flowing from the icy plateau has become a distinctive new identity for the Nagari region, prioritizing ecology while enriching its people through industry.
