Modis Visit to Malaysia Strengthens Ties and Focuses on Skills Training

Kuala Lumpur, February 9: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently completed a two-day visit to Malaysia, where he engaged in discussions with local leaders. M. Kulasegaran, a member of Malaysia’s House of Representatives, described the meeting as beneficial and enjoyable, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in combating terrorism.

During his visit, Kulasegaran highlighted several issues that India could address, noting that Modi expressed willingness to consider them. He particularly stressed the need for cooperation in skills training. “India has made significant advancements in artificial intelligence and big data, achieving success even in scientific research and lunar missions,” he stated. Modi agreed to collaborate on these matters and support the Indian community residing in Malaysia.

Kulasegaran expressed gratitude for the personal meeting with Modi, which included only 15 parliamentary members, senators, ministers, and deputy ministers. He found the interaction to be productive and engaging.

Reflecting on his previous encounters with Modi, Kulasegaran remarked, “This was the first time we had a detailed conversation. We spoke one-on-one with the group, and he was approachable and sincere. It is evident that he is forward-thinking, aiming to bring about change not only in India but also in other parts of the world.”

He praised Modi’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, stating, “Every country must remain vigilant against terrorism. Ignoring it can lead to severe consequences. Some may think that if terrorism is not a concern outside their country, it won’t affect them, but that is a misconception. Malaysia, India, and other nations must collaborate to control such issues.”
