Amritsar, July 24: The special ‘Miri-Piri Khalsa March’ commenced from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on the occasion of Miri-Piri Day. This religious and awareness march saw participation from Singh Sahib Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, and other SGPC members.
During a media interaction at the march’s launch, Sukhbir Singh Badal congratulated the entire Sikh community on Miri-Piri Day. He stated that the march aims to spread the message of Miri-Piri throughout Punjab, starting from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He emphasized that Singh Sahib Jathedar has encouraged the entire community to join this march.
Sukhbir Singh Badal urged the congregation to participate in large numbers throughout the march’s duration, contributing to the dissemination of Guru Sahib’s Miri-Piri principles. He concluded his address with the chant, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.”
The organizers highlighted that the primary goal of the Miri-Piri Khalsa March is to keep youth away from drugs and other bad habits while connecting them with Sikh teachings and the essence of Guru Sahib. Additionally, promoting the principles of Miri-Piri as given by Sri Akal Takht Sahib is a major objective of this journey.
According to SGPC, the march departed from Sri Akal Takht Sahib at 10 AM on July 24. It will pass through various stops, including Hall Gate, Putlighar, Cheharata Sahib, and Attari, with the first day concluding at Gurudwara Baba Budha Sahib Ji in Bid Thatta for an overnight stay. The march will continue to Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran, Goindwal Sahib, Dharmkot (Moga), Wazidpur, Faridkot, Jaito, Sri Muktsar Sahib, and Bathinda, culminating at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, on August 3.
The organizers have appealed to all devotees to actively participate in this religious journey and contribute to services such as cleanliness and langar.
