
New Delhi, July 24: The police in northwest Delhi have swiftly solved a theft case, arresting the suspect within just six hours. This prompt action has revived hope for a six-year-old girl awaiting critical spine surgery.
Authorities reported that a family in the Keshav Puram area had gathered approximately ₹12.5 lakh by selling their life savings and jewelry for their daughter’s serious spinal surgery. However, just before the treatment, thieves broke into their home and stole everything.
On July 22, a complaint was lodged at the Keshav Puram police station regarding the burglary, where the complainant detailed how unknown individuals entered their home and absconded with jewelry valued at around ₹12.5 lakh.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the six-year-old girl was undergoing treatment for spinal surgery at AIIMS. To fund her medical expenses, the family had sold their jewelry and pooled their lifelong savings.
Following this, a case was registered at Keshav Puram police station, and an investigation was initiated on a priority basis. Given the seriousness of the situation, a special team was formed to apprehend the culprits. Based on technical evidence and persistent efforts, a notorious thief was identified and arrested.
The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Abhishek, also known as Rajee, from the Wazirpur area of Delhi. During interrogation, he revealed the location where he had hidden the stolen jewelry. Acting on this information, Delhi police conducted a raid and successfully recovered the stolen items, returning them to the victimized family.
Officials stated that the police’s rapid response not only led to the successful recovery of the stolen goods but also restored hope to the family, ensuring that the girl’s treatment could proceed without any interruptions.
