Patna, June 7: The political atmosphere in Bihar has heated up following the reduction of security for former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav. RJD workers have initiated protests outside Rabri Devi’s residence in response to this decision. The political rhetoric surrounding the issue has intensified.
RJD Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha has sharply criticized the government’s decision. He expressed that it is unfortunate to see leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav face such security measures. Jha emphasized that security should never be used as a tool for political revenge or pressure. He raised concerns that if security arrangements are weaponized politically, it could negatively impact democracy.
Jha also pointed out that many individuals in Bihar do not require security, yet they are surrounded by heavy security arrangements. He sarcastically noted that some people remain engrossed in the pleasures of power, while the public is now taking security matters into their own hands, leading some leaders to return their government-provided security.
He further commented on GDP growth and economic conditions, stating that mere statistics cannot alter reality. According to him, the reports regarding the country’s economic situation are alarming. He claimed that various assertions about growth rates are misleading, as the reality for ordinary people remains grim.
Jha remarked that today, the middle and lower classes are struggling with inflation and economic pressures. Everyday essentials are becoming more expensive, directly impacting the budgets of many families. He noted that essential items are disappearing from people’s plates, indicating that the lives of common citizens are being affected.
He also warned that global conditions, such as those in West Asia and Iran, could further impact the Indian economy in the future. He urged the government to focus on ground realities rather than just statistics.
