Chirag Paswan Responds to Congress on GDP Growth Concerns

New Delhi, June 6: Union Minister Chirag Paswan sharply responded to Congress’s questions regarding India’s GDP growth. He stated that Congress’s biggest issue is its refusal to accept the reality of electoral results and acknowledge the positive actions taken by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Paswan remarked that Congress lives in a ‘bubble’ where it perceives every action of the government as flawed. He emphasized that the recently released GDP figures are based on authentic and verified reports. Thus, labeling every achievement as fabricated or manipulated is not conducive to healthy politics.

He acknowledged that the opposition has the right to critique government policies and operations. However, outright dismissal of every positive initiative and accomplishment is not appropriate for democratic politics. Paswan urged Congress to accept reality and play a constructive role as the opposition.

Additionally, he addressed the issue of the Bihar government’s decision to reduce the security of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi. Paswan stated that security matters should not be politicized.

He clarified that the security provided to individuals is determined based on threat assessments. If the threat level increases, security is enhanced; conversely, if the threat diminishes, adjustments or reductions in security may occur. He cited his own experience, noting that his security has fluctuated based on threat evaluations.

Paswan insisted that this is a standard administrative procedure and searching for political motives behind it is inappropriate. He stated that security-related decisions are made based on thorough investigations and relevant reports. Politicizing such routine administrative decisions is detrimental to democratic systems and a healthy political environment.
