Manipur Chief Minister Honors NCC Cadets, Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Development

Imphal, March 15: Manipur’s Chief Minister, Yumkham Khemchand Singh, assured National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets on Saturday that the state government is dedicated to creating an environment where youth can thrive and play an active role in the state’s development.

The Chief Minister addressed a felicitation ceremony held at the NCC ground located in the DM College campus of Imphal, honoring the state’s NCC cadets.

Earlier, seven NCC cadets from the state represented Manipur at the Republic Day Parade and the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally held in New Delhi.

In his speech, the Chief Minister stated that the seven honored cadets have filled the hearts of every Manipuri with pride and joy. He emphasized that this is a moment of pride for the entire state, bringing everyone together to celebrate these achievements.

He inspired the state’s youth, declaring that NCC cadets are the architects of a new Manipur—one that is peaceful, progressive, and prosperous. He also praised the efforts of the NCC group headquarters in Imphal for contributing to shaping the state’s future. During the event, the Chief Minister inspected the Guard of Honor presented by the cadets.

Additionally, he participated in a flight simulator session at the unit headquarters with the commanding officer of the First Manipur Air Squadron NCC, Mutum Sandeep Singh.

The ceremony was attended by MLA Joykishan Singh, DM University Vice-Chancellor Dr. W. Chandababu Singh, Brigadier Vikrant Kulkarni, along with NCC cadets, officers, and staff. Approximately 2,000 cadets from hilly districts like Churachandpur and Ukhrul also joined the event via video conferencing.

After the ceremony, the Chief Minister, accompanied by MLA Joykishan Singh, inspected the Khuthokangbi Higher Primary School and Gurukul Hijam Diwan Junior High School located in the Thangmeiband Assembly constituency.

He also visited Norembirhari College in Khandrakpam to assess the institution’s current status and briefly interacted with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister inaugurated the improvement works on the Imphal-Sakulp Road from Hundred Flower School to Sagolmang. He assured local residents that the project would be completed as soon as possible, enhancing transportation facilities in the area. The event was attended by Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Chongtham Bishwachandra Singh, departmental officials, and contractors.
