
New Delhi, June 8: A significant meeting of the India Bloc is scheduled for Monday, aimed at enhancing the unity among opposition parties. It is expected that representatives from 23 political parties will participate in this crucial gathering. Some leaders may join the meeting via video conferencing.
Sources indicate that the meeting will include major parties such as the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), National Conference, PDP, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), CPM, CPI, RSP, Forward Block, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), CPI (ML), MDMK, VCK, National Democratic Party (RLP), VIP Party, Kerala Congress, Kerala Congress (Mani), BAP Party, and Lok Dal.
Prominent figures expected to attend include Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. From the Trinamool Congress, former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee are likely to be present. Akhilesh Yadav from the Samajwadi Party and Tejashwi Yadav or Manoj Jha from the RJD may also participate.
Additionally, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), is anticipated to join virtually. Umar Abdullah from the National Conference, Supriya Sule from NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Mehbooba Mufti from PDP, John Brittas from CPM, D. Raja from CPI, and Dipankar Bhattacharya from CPI (ML) are also expected to attend.
Representatives from IUML, RSP, Kerala Congress (Mani), VCK, and MDMK are also likely to be present. However, the JMM has yet to finalize its representative due to the ongoing Rajya Sabha nomination process in Jharkhand. Sources suggest that final confirmations from some parties are still pending, which may lead to changes in the participant list.
