Major Crackdown on Traffic Violators in Gautam Buddh Nagar: Over 36,000 Vehicles Challaned

Noida, May 26: The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has launched a significant crackdown on traffic rule violators. Under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and the supervision of Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr. Rajeev Narayan Mishra, a special intensive checking campaign was conducted from May 21 to May 24 across the district.

During this operation, strict actions were taken against illegal parking, vehicles without number plates, overloading, unregistered vehicles, reckless driving, speeding, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, all under a zero-tolerance policy.

According to police officials, the primary aim of this campaign was to enhance road safety, maintain traffic order, and reduce accidents. Officers from all three zones, including DCPs and traffic officials, collaborated to ensure strict enforcement against rule violators at various locations.

The Noida zone witnessed the highest number of actions. Here, 3,001 illegally parked vehicles were challaned, along with 114 vehicles for lacking number plates and for overloading. Additionally, 72 unregistered vehicles, 120 reckless driving incidents, five unfit school buses, 244 speeding vehicles, and 197 drivers under the influence were apprehended. A total of 4,249 other traffic violations were also recorded, with 40 vehicles seized.

In Central Noida, police took extensive action against 836 illegally parked vehicles, 107 overloaded and unregistered dumpers, 26 unregistered vehicles, and 16 reckless drivers. Eight unfit school buses were also penalized. Furthermore, 284 speeding vehicles and 379 drivers under the influence were targeted, leading to the seizure of 10 vehicles in this zone.

In the Greater Noida zone, 374 illegally parked vehicles, seven overloaded dumpers, 20 unregistered vehicles, and eight reckless drivers were penalized. This zone also reported 255 speeding vehicles and 19 drivers under the influence.

In a separate initiative by the traffic police, actions were taken against 3,773 illegally parked vehicles, 580 unregistered and overloaded dumpers, 49 unregistered vehicles, 31 reckless drivers, 82 unfit school buses, and 2,215 speeding vehicles. Additionally, 95 vehicles were seized.

Throughout the entire campaign, a total of 7,984 illegally parked vehicles, 808 overloaded and unregistered dumpers, 167 unregistered vehicles, 175 reckless drivers, 95 unfit school buses, 2,998 speeding vehicles, and 625 drivers under the influence were challaned. Moreover, actions were taken against 24,499 vehicles in other categories, leading to a total of 145 vehicle seizures.
