Ranchi, March 30: The police have arrested Sachin Yadav, the main shooter involved in the shocking shooting and murder of an employee at ‘The T-Toss Restaurant’ in the Airport police station area of Ranchi.
Sachin Yadav, a resident of Putki in Dhanbad, is an active member of the organized crime gang ‘Prince Khan.’ He has eight serious criminal cases against him, including murder and robbery. Following his identification, the police recovered a country-made pistol, three live cartridges, and the clothes he wore during the incident.
According to the police, the entire incident was orchestrated due to a failure to pay a ransom of one crore rupees. On December 27, 2025, the Prince Khan gang demanded this amount from the restaurant owner, Rajkumar Gop, through an audio message sent via an internet call. After the money was not paid, the gang issued continuous threats.
In this context, on March 7, 2026, the gang carried out the shooting at the restaurant to instill fear, resulting in the death of an employee. A case of murder and violation of the Arms Act was registered at the Airport police station under case number 12/26.
An SIT formed by Ranchi’s SSP Rakesh Ranjan acted swiftly, already sending four criminals involved in the case to jail. During the investigation, Sachin Yadav was identified as the main shooter. He has a long criminal history, having been wanted in cases of extortion, robbery, and the Explosive Substances Act across various police stations in Dhanbad, including Bank More, Putki, and Rajganj.
Under the leadership of Hatiya DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra, a raid team was formed, including officers from Argoda, Namkum, Jagarnathpur, and the Airport police station, along with technical branch officials. The police are now interrogating Sachin Yadav to gather information about other gang locations and the Prince Khan network. A separate case has been registered at the Airport police station regarding the recovered weapons, and further investigations have commenced.
