PM Modi Launches ₹20,000 Crore Development Projects in Gujarat, Enhancing Border Security

Ahmedabad, March 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects worth ₹20,000 crore in Vav-Tharad, Gujarat, on Tuesday. Addressing a public gathering, he reflected on the recent celebration of the auspicious Navratri festival, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to be in the presence of Maa Amba Ji.

During his speech, PM Modi stated, “I bow to Maa Amba Ji. It is also a fortunate coincidence that we are celebrating Mahavir Jayanti today. This region is home to numerous Jain pilgrimage sites. I pay my respects to Lord Mahavir and extend my greetings to all on this sacred day.”

He expressed satisfaction about landing at the Disa Airbase for the first time, located just 130 km from the international border. “You can understand how crucial this is for national security,” he said. The idea for the Disa airport project dates back to his tenure as Chief Minister when land was acquired with the help of local farmers. He emphasized its significance for the security of the western border.

PM Modi criticized the previous central government for delaying the project, stating, “When you sent me to Delhi, I revived this project. As a result, a major Air Force base is now linked to Disa. This is not just a runway; it will facilitate significant activities and house a large number of personnel, contributing greatly to the region’s development.”

He highlighted his deep connection to Vav-Tharad and Banaskantha, stating, “I will never forget your immense love. I have worked on this mission mode to advance Gujarat as much as possible. Today, projects worth nearly ₹20,000 crore from both the central and state governments are being launched, which will transform the area and give new momentum to local life.”

The Prime Minister also noted Gujarat’s leadership in solar energy, praising its achievements in renewable energy development. He recalled initiating the country’s first solar park in Sarangpur in 2010, which sparked a solar energy movement. “Today, projects linked to the Khavda Renewable Energy Park have commenced. It won’t be long before Gujarat emerges as a global hub for renewable energy,” he added.

Reflecting on the past, he recalled a time when North Gujarat was associated with drought and scarcity, saying, “No one can forget the struggles of that life, marked by neglect from the Congress government. We connected every village in Gujarat with good roads and built high-speed highways, including the Vande Bharat trains.”

PM Modi addressed the global challenges of war and instability affecting many countries, particularly in West Asia, leading to an energy crisis. He emphasized that India has managed to maintain stability due to its effective foreign policy and public unity.

He criticized certain political parties, especially the Congress, for attempting to exploit the current crisis for political gain. “Instead of promoting trust and unity, Congress leaders spread fear and rumors, weakening the collective strength needed to face these tough times,” he said.

Referencing a recent incident at the AI Summit in Delhi, he remarked, “While the summit received global acclaim, Congress members attempted to tarnish India’s image. Even now, they speak the language of foreign forces that promote hatred. We must remain vigilant against Congress’s schemes.”

PM Modi concluded, “From the Panchayat to Parliament, as long as your trust remains, the superfast express of development will continue to gain momentum.”
