
Mumbai, June 7: The Maharashtra NCC Directorate has launched a significant skilling and employment initiative under the Prime Minister‘s Internship Scheme (PMIS). This initiative aims to connect NCC cadets and former cadets with the industry, equipping them with future-ready skills and enhancing career opportunities.
In the first phase of the program, special placement camps are being organized in collaboration with Lemon Tree Hotels. These camps will provide internship opportunities to eligible graduate youth in Maharashtra. A total of 150 internships are available in this initial phase.
On June 15, 2026, a placement camp will be held at Lemon Tree Premier, City Center in Pune, offering 50 internship positions. Additionally, a camp will take place on June 16, 2026, at the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Mumbai, where 100 youths will have the chance to secure internships.
NCC Senior Division, Senior Wing cadets, and former cadets are eligible to benefit from these opportunities. Selected candidates will receive practical training in various fields, including Human Resources (HR), Sales, Front Office Operations, Finance, Food and Beverage Services, and Purchase and Stores. They will also be provided with a monthly stipend, mentorship, workplace training, and career development opportunities under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme.
NCC Maharashtra is implementing this initiative with the support of the industry, educational institutions, and various stakeholders. To enhance the participation of female cadets, efforts are being coordinated with the Maharashtra government to provide housing and additional support services.
In addition to internships, NCC Maharashtra is conducting specialized programs such as drone pilot training and certification, cybersecurity programs, disaster management and emergency response training, as well as civil defense and community resilience training to prepare youth for future needs.
Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General of NCC Maharashtra, stated that NCC has always been a platform for developing disciplined and responsible citizens. Now, it is also being linked to employment, entrepreneurship, and future skills. The placement camps in Pune and Mumbai mark the beginning of a meaningful journey from education to employment.
Over 150,000 NCC cadets are connected through more than 2,000 educational institutions across all 36 districts of Maharashtra.
