Ayodhya, July 2: Kalika Prasad Mishra, president of the Faizabad Bar Association, has called for a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the donation controversy surrounding the Ayodhya Ram Temple. He stated that despite the stringent security measures in place, if such significant irregularities have occurred, it reflects a failure on the part of the police.
Mishra emphasized the need for the ED’s involvement, saying, “Given the large sum of money involved, if the ED does not investigate, then who will? They should have been proactive in this matter by now.”
He also insisted that the CBI should conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the situation. “We leave everything else to Lord Ram, but this investigation should be carried out by the CBI,” he asserted.
Mishra warned that if the police do not file a First Information Report (FIR), actions will be taken against those whose roles appear suspicious. “The law has provisions for everything,” he added.
He pointed out that those accused are currently under police protection, raising questions about how the police could file an FIR against them. “However, if a complaint is not registered, we will continue to expose every alleged wrongdoing,” he stated.
Mishra clarified that this complaint would be entirely distinct from the previously filed FIR. “This will be our first FIR, as the earlier case involved eight accused and is unrelated to this one. We are now filing complaints against different individuals,” he explained.
The Bar Association president also questioned the validity of the earlier FIR, expressing serious doubts about how the police recorded the cash recovery. The police reportedly seized cash from ten different locations but documented it as a single recovery, which he believes warrants further investigation.
He mentioned that the complaint would seek to register an FIR against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and other members of the trust. Additionally, he hinted that more names could be added during the investigation.
