Orchha, August 31: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced that the state will enhance the development of its major pilgrimage sites. This initiative aims to promote religious tourism while simultaneously generating new employment opportunities at the local level. On Monday, CM Yadav inspected ongoing construction projects at the historic and spiritual center, Shri Ram Raja Lok, in Orchha.
During his visit, Yadav received updates on the progress of the construction work and instructed the relevant officials to ensure that the projects are completed on time and with high quality. Speaking to reporters, he emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is being transformed into a remarkable tourism hub through the State Tourism Development Corporation. He highlighted the significance of the Raja Ram Temple in Orchha as part of the state’s historical and cultural heritage. The architectural marvel of Orchha is noteworthy; while air conditioning was once absent, the newly constructed buildings are designed to provide comfort in both summer and winter.
Discussing Ujjain, CM Yadav noted that the construction of Shri Mahakal Mahalok has significantly transformed the local economy and led to a remarkable increase in the number of visitors. Following this model, the comprehensive development of Madhya Pradesh’s key pilgrimage sites will be pursued to enhance religious tourism and create local job opportunities.
He further stated that Lord Shri Ram spent 12 years in Chitrakoot during his 14-year exile. Preserving and connecting future generations to our glorious religious and cultural heritage is a priority for the Madhya Pradesh government. In this context, the grand Shri Ram Raja Lok is being built in Orchha, which is set to become a major pilgrimage site for devotees from across the country and the world.
Highlighting the importance of Orchha, he remarked that the town was historically recognized as the capital of Bundelkhand by the illustrious Bundela kings. The old structures and buildings here are a testament to our rich heritage. The government is working to revitalize this heritage. The reconstruction will utilize the same materials originally used to maintain its authentic character, with skilled artisans engaged in the process.
