New Delhi, August 31: General Dheeraj Seth, the Chief of the Indian Army, visited the Southern Command headquarters to assess the command’s operational readiness and ongoing capacity enhancement initiatives.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Southern Command, provided a comprehensive overview of the current operational conditions, the army’s preparedness, training programs, and measures taken to strengthen combat capabilities.
General Seth emphasized the need to maintain continuous operational readiness, adapt to changing circumstances, rapidly adopt new technologies, and consistently improve tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in light of the evolving nature of warfare.
He stated that training based on real-world scenarios, enhanced coordination among the three armed forces, and the promotion of indigenous defense capabilities are crucial for facing future challenges. This approach will make the Indian Army more capable, technologically empowered, and prepared for the future.
General Dheeraj Seth commended the professional commitment, dedication, and exemplary work ethic of all officers and soldiers. He urged the troops to remain focused on their mission and maintain the operational edge of the Southern Command.
According to the Indian Army, this visit aimed to review the Southern Command’s combat capabilities, training arrangements, and preparations to address future security challenges.
Earlier, the Army Chief praised the unique and selfless service of retiring officers and bid them farewell. The army noted that these dedicated officers, committed to defending the motherland, will continue to inspire new directions in nation-building through their experience, discipline, and value-based leadership.
