New Delhi, June 7: Government oil companies have once again raised the prices of LPG gas cylinders. The cost of a 14.2-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder has increased by ₹29. Consequently, the price in New Delhi has risen from ₹913 to ₹942.
The new price for domestic LPG cylinders will take effect today, June 7. Prior to this, on June 1, the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders were also increased by ₹42.
This June hike adds to a significant rise in commercial LPG cylinder prices over the past five months. In February, the price increased by ₹49, followed by another hike of ₹115 in March. April saw the highest increase, with prices reaching ₹993 per cylinder. The rates were adjusted again on June 1.
The price hikes have been attributed to rising fuel and transportation costs. Oil marketing companies also raised the price of 5-kilogram free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by ₹11.
Recently, the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in New Delhi and surrounding areas also saw an increase of ₹2 per kilogram. Since May 15, CNG prices have risen a total of ₹6 per kilogram through four separate adjustments.
On May 19, petrol prices were raised by ₹0.86 per liter and diesel by ₹0.83 per liter. Following this change, petrol in New Delhi now costs ₹98.64 per liter, while diesel is priced at ₹91.58 per liter.
Earlier, on May 15, fuel prices were also increased, with petrol and diesel rising by ₹3 per liter and CNG by ₹2 per kilogram.
