
Beijing, July 29: Under the direction of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang visited Tangshan in Hebei Province. This visit marks the 50th anniversary of the Tangshan earthquake relief efforts and the reconstruction of the city.
Li emphasized the importance of implementing President Xi’s crucial directives to enhance disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief operations. He highlighted the need to uphold the principles of prioritizing public welfare and life. Continuous improvements in monitoring, early warning systems, emergency responses, rescue operations, and post-disaster reconstruction mechanisms are essential to effectively protect people’s lives and property.
During his visit, Li Qiang toured a rescue center operated by the Aneng Group’s First Engineering Bureau in Tangshan. He gathered information on local rescue operations, future development plans, and other initiatives. Li inspected various rescue equipment and exchanged ideas with rescue personnel.
He stressed that disaster prevention, relief, and rescue efforts are closely linked to public safety and national security. Li called for constant vigilance in emergency rescue operations, regular practical training, and joint exercises. He underscored the need to enhance professional capabilities in quick response, scientific rescue, and efficient management.
