Indian Embassy Issues Advisory for Citizens in Saudi Arabia Amid Security Concerns

Riyadh, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has issued a warning to all Indian citizens residing in Saudi Arabia, urging them to stay vigilant and cautious. This advisory comes in response to recent attacks on civil infrastructure within the country.

In a statement, the embassy emphasized the need for Indian nationals to remain alert, stay indoors if necessary, and follow directives issued by local authorities. The embassy also cautioned against sharing or reposting videos or news related to the ongoing situation on social media.

Previously, India condemned attacks at Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport, labeling the targeting of civilian infrastructure as “completely unacceptable.” The Ministry of External Affairs expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished for a swift recovery for the injured.

The ministry’s statement condemned the attacks, which resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. It reiterated India’s solidarity with the people and government of Saudi Arabia.

This response followed a statement from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), which reported that the attacks on October 6 and 7 claimed three lives and injured 36 individuals. Among the deceased were two women, one from Morocco and another from Algeria, while the injured included Saudi nationals, a Bangladeshi, and a Filipino.

Additionally, a Sudanese national lost their life in the attack at King Khalid International Airport, which also left eight people injured, including five Saudis, two Egyptians, and one Pakistani.

Saudi authorities confirmed that emergency response teams acted promptly according to established security protocols after the attacks. They continue to monitor the situation closely and have strengthened security measures.
