KTM has launched the new 160 Duke in India, targeting buyers looking for an affordable yet thrilling streetfighter experience. With its edgy styling, upgraded performance, and practical usability, the 160 Duke delivers a perfect mix of fun and everyday convenience. As the smallest Duke in the brand’s line-up, it carries the same aggressive design DNA that KTM is known for, making it especially attractive to first-time buyers who want a balance of efficiency, power, and urban-friendly handling.

Design

The KTM 160 Duke carries forward the edgy design language seen in its larger siblings. The naked streetfighter stance is bold, highlighted by sharp body contours and a muscular fuel tank. A new LED headlamp with hazard lights adds a premium touch, while switchgear borrowed from the 390 Duke makes the entry-level model feel more high-end. Despite its positioning, the 160 Duke feels every bit like a genuine KTM.

Engine and Performance

Powering the 160 Duke is a 160 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 19 PS at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is rev-happy, making it lively for daily use. KTM has designed it with lighter internals for responsive handling in traffic and stability at speed. The bike accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and handles both city rides and highway cruising with ease. Mid-range acceleration is solid, giving it an edge over its rivals in this segment.

Braking and Safety

The braking setup includes a large 320 mm front disc, dual-channel ABS, and braided brake lines. Riders can switch off rear ABS for a sportier experience. While not as aggressive as bigger Duke models, the brakes remain effective and safe, and the bike’s high-quality construction inspires confidence in all riding conditions.

Mileage and Price

Fuel efficiency is another strong point, with KTM claiming over 40 kmpl under normal riding. This is about 10 percent better than earlier models. Priced at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM 160 Duke stands as a value-packed streetfighter offering premium features at a budget-friendly price. With its blend of design, performance, and efficiency, it is an appealing choice for new riders.
