Mumbai, March 21: Yamaha is set to launch its stylish scooter, the Fascino 125, in a new avatar. Ahead of the official unveiling, images of this facelift model have gone viral on social media without any cover. Reports indicate that the new model has started arriving at dealerships for training purposes, suggesting that the launch is just around the corner. The Fascino has been a reliable brand for Yamaha in India, with average monthly sales of 5,000 to 6,000 units. Let’s dive into the details.
The most significant change in the leaked images is seen in the rear design of the scooter. Yamaha has completely revamped the setup for the turn indicators. Previously part of a single cluster, they are now installed as separate units on either side. Additionally, new graphics and stickers have been added above the ‘Fascino S’ branding, giving it a more modern look. However, the signature tail lamp design remains unchanged to preserve its classic appeal.
In terms of performance, major changes to the scooter’s mechanics are not expected. It will feature the same reliable 125cc air-cooled hybrid engine, generating 8.2bhp of power and 10.3Nm of torque. Yamaha’s renowned Smart Motor Generator (SMG) technology will continue, ensuring a silent start. Moreover, high-tech features such as Bluetooth connectivity (Y-Connect), an automatic stop-start system, and a side-stand engine cut-off will keep it among the most advanced scooters in its segment.
Due to the new features and cosmetic changes, a slight price increase is anticipated. Currently, the ex-showroom price of the existing Fascino ranges from approximately ₹75,000 to ₹95,000. With the scooters already reaching dealerships for training, it is expected that Yamaha will launch the new model in the coming weeks.
