Kedarnath Pilgrimage Sees Surge in Devotees, Enhanced Security and Facilities in Place

Rudraprayag, May 24: The Kedarnath pilgrimage is witnessing an unprecedented influx of devotees, prompting local authorities to bolster security and facilities. This year, the number of pilgrims has exceeded expectations, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the region. Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary provided updates on the arrangements and crowd management during a recent conversation.

Minister Chaudhary stated that all agencies have been mobilized to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience. This includes the police department, civil administration, SDRF, NDRF, and PRD teams, all actively working at their respective levels. The government aims to prevent any inconvenience for the devotees.

He noted that the surge in pilgrims is a positive sign for the local economy. Businesses related to hotels, shops, and horse-drawn carriage services are benefiting directly, providing employment opportunities for local youth.

So far, there have been no significant incidents indicating a loss of crowd control. While the pilgrimage route and Kedarnath Dham are crowded, the administration is closely monitoring the situation, prioritizing the safety and convenience of the devotees.

Minister Chaudhary highlighted that special attention is being given to the pedestrian route from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. Facilities such as water, medical services, and rest areas have been established for travelers. Additionally, provisions for adequate water and fodder for horses and mules are in place.

Health services have also been strengthened to ensure immediate assistance in case of emergencies. Medical teams are stationed at various points, and the administration is maintaining vigilant oversight.
