Outrage Over Alleged Misconduct Against MLA Jarnail Singh in Haryana

Chandigarh, August 29: The president of the Shiromani Akali Dal Haryana, Harkesh Singh Mohri, has launched a fierce attack on the Congress party regarding the alleged misconduct towards MLA Sardar Jarnail Singh in the assembly. He stated that the mistreatment of an elected representative was rooted in the fact that Singh is both Sikh and Dalit, reflecting Congress’s underlying policies. Mohri also questioned the silence of Deepender and Bhupinder Hooda in the Sajjan Kumar case, demanding an apology from Congress and action against the offending MLA.

Mohri emphasized, “What happened to Sardar Jarnail Singh is a severe form of misconduct. This incident reveals Congress’s true nature. An elected MLA faced abuse from another MLA solely because he is visibly Sikh and belongs to the Dalit community. Congress must clarify its stance on this abhorrent behavior.”

Regarding comments made by Sajjan Singh, Mohri noted that the expressions of love from Deepender and Bhupinder Hooda warranted opposition. He stated, “One MLA also protested. He said an apology was necessary; what is wrong with that? If they claim to be allies of Sikhs and have deep emotional ties to the Sikh community, why is there hesitation in apologizing?”

Mohri asserted that this issue transcends mere political discourse; it is fundamentally a religious matter. It was raised by a Sikh leader, regardless of party affiliation, and a leader from the Dalit community. “This voice has been suppressed, but we will not allow it to be silenced. We will fight and strategize for this cause,” he declared.

Concerning potential actions against the two leaders, Mohri stated that the party leadership across Haryana would deliberate on the matter. “This is not an individual decision; our constitution operates collectively. We will convene a meeting with all our workers and will soon make a decision, whether it involves protesting against this MLA or the Hooda father-son duo, or expressing our objections at the assembly. We will assess the policy,” he concluded.
