Special Programmes on the Eve of Independence Day
Jodhpur, August 13 (Kiran News) – Jodhpur is all set to host the state-level Independence Day celebrations 2025, with special programmes scheduled for the eve of the occasion on August 14. On this day, the city’s sky will bear witness to the bravery of ‘Operation Sindoor’ when India’s first-ever drone show featuring 550 drones will illuminate the skies above the Mehrangarh Fort.

Several significant and grand events will be held in Jodhpur on the eve of Independence Day, setting the stage for the main celebration on August 15. In the evening, the prestigious ‘At Home’ programme will be hosted at the historic Mehrangarh Fort. The event will be attended by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, cabinet members, MLAs, senior officials, military dignitaries, and special invitees from various walks of life, totalling around 300 distinguished guests.
Grand Show After ‘At Home’
Immediately after the ‘At Home’ programme, at 7:30 PM, the country’s first ‘Operation Sindoor’ drone show will take place above the Mehrangarh Fort. The spectacle will be visible from across Jodhpur, with 550 state-of-the-art drones flying in synchrony. Entirely themed on Operation Sindoor, the show will present a vivid depiction of the Indian Army’s indomitable courage, heroic saga, and advanced weaponry developed under the Make in India initiative.
Telling the Story of Operation Sindoor
During the show, the complete story of Operation Sindoor will be narrated to the public through loudspeakers. To ensure maximum public participation, special arrangements have been made, including large LED screens and high-quality loudspeakers at key locations in the city. This will allow those who cannot be near the fort to enjoy the visuals and narration from nearby viewing points.
Ashok Udyan to Host Memorable Cultural Evening
Ashok Udyan will also host a cultural evening on the eve of Independence Day. The musical night will feature patriotic songs by Indian Idol fame Piyush Panwar and captivating performances of Rajasthan’s traditional folk arts by folk singers. From 8:15 PM to 9:15 PM, exhibitions will be set up among the chhatris in the park. The evening will conclude with a performance by renowned poet Shailesh Lodha, famous for his appearance in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’.
