Mumbai, April 8: Senior leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Abu Azmi, has expressed his support for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial remarks regarding the BJP and RSS. Azmi stated that Kharge is absolutely correct and has not said anything wrong.
During a media interaction in Mumbai, Azmi accused the BJP of spreading hatred across the nation. He emphasized the need to remove the BJP government, warning that otherwise, the Constitution of the country could be at risk. Azmi claimed that in the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the public would rectify their previous mistake by electing a Samajwadi Party government.
He described the SP’s governance as the best for Uttar Pradesh. According to Azmi, no government has performed better in the state since independence than during the tenure of the SP. He highlighted that under Akhilesh Yadav’s leadership, the SP government worked continuously for the welfare of the people, resulting in significant development in the state. He praised Yadav’s strong vision for development.
Azmi acknowledged that the SP did not form the government in the last elections, which led to public disappointment. However, he is confident that this time, the Samajwadi Party will return to power with a majority.
Referring to his constituency, Azmi mentioned that many students from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar are studying at Mumbai University’s Kalina campus. These students face significant challenges commuting daily due to the limited number of buses operating on schedule. To address this issue, he has written to BEST Committee Chairperson Trishna Vishwasrao, requesting the initiation of a new bus service from the 90 Feet Road bus stop to Kalina and additional buses during peak hours. He noted that students often wait for hours for buses, which negatively impacts their studies and causes unnecessary distress. Azmi urged for prompt action to ease their travel and allow them to focus on their education without hassle.
