New Delhi, August 14 (Kiran News): This year’s Independence Day celebrations will feature a special tribute to the success of Operation ‘Sindoor’. The floral decorations at the venue will be themed around the operation, and the official invitations will carry its logo. Following a ceremonial flower shower, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort. Around 5,000 special guests from various fields have been invited to the event. For the first time, armed forces bands will perform patriotic tunes at over 140 prominent locations across the country in the evening.

Reception and Guard of Honour
According to the Ministry of Defence, the main Independence Day event will be held at the Red Fort. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister will be welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. The Defence Secretary will then introduce the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Delhi Area, Lieutenant General Bhavanish Kumar, to the Prime Minister. The GOC will escort the Prime Minister to the saluting dais, where a joint contingent of the armed forces and Delhi Police will present the Guard of Honour.
The Guard of Honour will comprise 96 personnel — 24 each from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police. The Indian Air Force is coordinating this year’s ceremony, with Wing Commander A.S. Sekhon leading the Guard of Honour. The Army contingent will be commanded by Major Arjun Singh, the Navy by Lieutenant Commander Komaldeep Singh, the Air Force by Squadron Leader Rajan Arora, and the Delhi Police by Additional DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh.
Flag Hoisting Ceremony
After inspecting the Guard of Honour, the Prime Minister will proceed to the ramparts of the Red Fort, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh will receive him. The GOC of Delhi Area will then escort the Prime Minister to the platform for flag hoisting, assisted by Flying Officer Rashika Sharma.
At the same time, the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial) will fire a 21-gun salute using indigenous 105 mm light field guns. The battery will be commanded by Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat, with Gun Position Officer Naib Subedar Anutosh Sarkar. After the flag hoisting, 128 personnel will give the ‘National Salute’ to the tricolour. The National Flag Guard will include one officer and 32 personnel each from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police, commanded by Wing Commander Tarun Dagar.
The Army’s flag guard will be led by Major Prakash Singh, the Navy’s by Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Parvez, the Air Force’s by Squadron Leader V.V. Shravan, and the Delhi Police’s by Additional DCP Abhimanyu Poswal. During the salute, the Air Force band — consisting of one JCO and 25 other ranks — will play the national anthem under the direction of Junior Warrant Officer M. Deka. For the first time, 11 Agniveer Air Force musicians will also be part of the band.
Helicopter Fly-Past and Flower Shower
As the Prime Minister hoists the national flag, two Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopters will shower flowers over the venue. One helicopter will carry the national flag, while the other will carry a flag representing Operation ‘Sindoor’. The helicopters will be piloted by Wing Commander Vinay Poonia and Wing Commander Aditya Jaiswal.
