Amaravati, September 1: Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, urged party leaders and workers to view the upcoming local body elections as a significant political challenge. He emphasized the need to prepare for elections on every seat to prevent opponents from winning uncontested.
During his visit to Pulivendula in Kadapa district, Jagan Mohan Reddy held a ‘Praja Darbar’ at the Bhakarapuram camp office. A large number of party leaders, workers, supporters, and citizens gathered to meet him and voice their grievances.
According to a party statement, he patiently listened to the people’s concerns and discussed local political conditions, organizational issues, and election strategies with party leaders.
Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed workers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level, maintain continuous contact with the public, and assist in resolving their issues. He stressed the importance of identifying candidates early and starting preparations to ensure that the YSR Congress Party can contest every local body seat.
He warned that any attempts to intimidate opposition candidates and workers using government power or police should be met with strength and unity. He reassured workers that the party would stand by them in every way.
Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed leaders to communicate the welfare initiatives and developmental works carried out under the YSR Congress government to every household. These include the Village Secretariat, Volunteer System, Nadu-Nedu, expansion of Arogya Sri, improvements in education, and support for farmers, women, students, and the underprivileged.
He instructed the party to highlight the failure of the coalition government to fulfill electoral promises and bring attention to the difficulties faced by the people.
He concluded by encouraging party workers to stay connected with the public, advocate for their issues, and remind them of the good work done during the YSR Congress tenure. “If we do this, winning the local body elections will not be difficult,” he said.
