Bhopal, June 1: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the ‘College Chalo Abhiyan’ event in Shujalpur, marking the commencement of the admission process for colleges in the state. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation is reaching new milestones in development. The event was also attended by Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar and other representatives.
During the event, CM Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation for 43 development projects costing ₹388 crore. This included the groundbreaking for an Ayurvedic college and hospital at a cost of ₹70 crore, along with a 50-bed AYUSH hospital costing ₹14.37 crore.
He praised PM Modi’s 12-year tenure, stating that under his guidance, Madhya Pradesh is consistently advancing on the path of development. Since the formation of Madhya Pradesh, there were only five medical colleges, but the current government has prioritized public welfare, resulting in the establishment of seven new medical colleges in just two years. Shujalpur, located in Shajapur district, has a rich history linked to Emperor Vikramaditya and is known as the most prosperous tehsil in the district.
CM Yadav also inaugurated schools including Maa Sharda Sandipani School, Maharana Pratap Sandipani School, Mihir Bhoj Sandipani School, and Raja Bhoj Sandipani School, with a total investment of ₹122 crore. Additionally, four new primary health centers were inaugurated, costing ₹14.58 crore.
He noted that Madhya Pradesh has always been a land of possibilities, but until 2002-03, only 7.5 lakh hectares of land were irrigated. Farmers lacked access to electricity, and essential services were inadequate. The government has increased irrigation coverage and ensured better prices for farmers’ produce. This year, wheat was purchased from farmers at ₹2625 per quintal, setting a new record for wheat procurement in the state. The government is committed to fulfilling its promises for farmer welfare.
CM Yadav stated that the state government is paving the way for progress through good governance, ensuring that all needy citizens, including the poor, farmers, youth, and women, benefit from welfare schemes. Over 25 crore people nationwide have been lifted out of poverty, which is a matter of pride. From Ujjain to Ayodhya and Dhar, cheers of progress resonate. The government is committed to implementing court decisions effectively. Under PM Modi’s leadership, development is flourishing in the state, with new medical and Ayurvedic colleges opening. There will be no slowdown in development projects over the next two and a half years.
Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar remarked that Shujalpur has a legacy of education. The district is receiving significant educational benefits with the inauguration of four new Sandipani schools named after great personalities. This is a historic day for Ayurvedic medicine in the state, with plans to establish nine new Ayurvedic colleges in the past two and a half years. The goal is to open 11 new Ayurvedic colleges after the new government takes office.
Minister Parmar announced the opening of a government homeopathic college in Ujjain, emphasizing that quality education and health are the government’s priorities. Madhya Pradesh is a leading state in implementing the New Education Policy, with PM Shri Excellence Colleges established in every district. Youth are now getting opportunities to study agriculture, and quality education is being provided in schools, as evidenced by this year’s board exam results. He also highlighted the need for road widening in Shujalpur and informed the CM of other local expectations.
MP Mahendra Singh Solanki noted that under CM Yadav’s leadership, remarkable infrastructure development is underway. The new four-lane road approved from Mandsaur to Bhopal will benefit areas around Guna, Rajgarh, Shajapur, and Shujalpur. The event was attended by Shajapur district in-charge minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha, MLA Ghanshyam Chandravanshi, Arun Bhimavad, district panchayat president Hemraj Sisodia, and other representatives.
