Protest in Netherlands Against Pakistans Airstrikes in Balochistan

Amsterdam, August 21: The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a rally in the Netherlands to condemn Pakistan’s recent airstrikes in the Surab district of Balochistan. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 30 civilians, including women and children.

During the rally, BNM activists described the Surab incident as a severe “humanitarian tragedy” and criticized the international community for its silence regarding ongoing atrocities in Balochistan. They emphasized the deteriorating human rights situation in the province.

Expressing deep concern over the loss of civilian lives, the protesters urged international organizations to promptly address the bombing in Surab and ensure accountability for those responsible.

The incident occurred on the morning of August 12, when the Pakistani Air Force allegedly conducted indiscriminate bombings in residential areas of the Gidar region in Surab, leading to significant civilian casualties and property damage.

The BNM stated, “Protesters appealed to the United Nations, the European Union, and global human rights organizations to conduct a fair and transparent investigation into the attack to uncover the truth. They also urged Dutch civil society, political leaders, and European nations to pay attention to human rights violations occurring in Balochistan and advocate for the affected families.”

BNM activists reiterated their commitment to raising awareness in the Netherlands and other European countries while demanding the protection of citizens and the restoration of human rights in Balochistan.

Recently, Tara Chand, the president of the Baloch American Congress, wrote to U.S. President Donald Trump, requesting that he acknowledge the recent airstrikes by the Pakistani military in Balochistan and intervene immediately. These attacks resulted in the deaths of over 30 civilians, including women and children.

In his letter to Trump, Chand stated, “We respectfully urge your administration to investigate these serious allegations and determine whether any U.S.-made aircraft, weapons, drones, technology, parts, or other military equipment were used in this alleged operation.”

On behalf of the Baloch community, he also requested that the U.S. administration investigate the alleged airstrikes in Surab and the civilian casualties, ascertain whether U.S.-made military equipment or technology was involved, and properly review the ‘end-use’ and compliance of U.S. defense supplies provided to Pakistan.

The letter concluded, “Mr. President, the life of a Baloch child is as precious as that of any child in the world. We are not asking your administration to form a preconceived opinion about the evidence—we are asking you to uncover the truth, ensure the safety of civilians, and hold those accountable. We are ready to provide available documents on this urgent matter and meet with relevant U.S. officials.”
