Harshit Rana Joins Indian Team for Third ODI Against Afghanistan

New Delhi, June 19: Harshit Rana has been included in the Indian cricket team for the third ODI against Afghanistan. He has completed his rehabilitation and will join the team in Chennai.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Harshit’s inclusion for the upcoming match. According to BCCI, he has successfully finished his rehab at the Centre of Excellence (COE) and is now fully fit. Harshit has also been selected for the Indian T20 team for the Ireland-England series and the 2026 Asian Games.

The Indian team has already secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series against Afghanistan. In the second ODI, held at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, India delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Afghanistan by 170 runs. Batting first, Team India posted a massive total of 402 runs. Shubman Gill starred with the bat, scoring an impressive 154 runs off 110 balls, while Ishan Kishan contributed with 125 runs off 79 balls.

Chasing a target of 403 runs, Afghanistan was bowled out for just 232 runs. Gurnoor Barar led India’s bowling attack with 3 wickets for 60 runs, while Arshdeep Singh also took 3 wickets, conceding 45 runs. Prince Yadav, in his debut match, claimed 2 wickets for 56 runs.

For Afghanistan, Rahmat Shah was the top scorer with 79 runs off 89 balls, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz added 41 runs. This marked Afghanistan’s second-largest defeat in terms of runs in ODI cricket. In the rain-affected first ODI, India had won by 7 wickets. The third and final match of the series is scheduled to take place on June 20 in Chennai.
