New Delhi, August 27: In response to the devastating tragedy in Nepal, the Chhattisgarh government has taken significant steps to assist citizens stranded there. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay conducted a review meeting on the relief efforts.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, efforts have been intensified to ensure the safe return of those trapped in Nepal. A helpline number has also been established for this purpose.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has instructed officials to maintain continuous communication with affected citizens and their families, ensuring necessary coordination for their safe return. For assistance and vital information, the disaster management helpline numbers 1070 and 91-771-2223471 have been issued for Chhattisgarh citizens or their family members in Nepal.
“The Chhattisgarh government stands firmly with every citizen during this crisis. We are making every possible effort to ensure the safe return of citizens stranded in Nepal and to provide them with all necessary assistance,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
The Chhattisgarh government is closely monitoring the situation in Nepal and coordinating with relevant agencies and officials to deliver aid and ensure the safe return of affected citizens.
In a related development, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay assessed the relief operations following the Nepal disaster and directed Resident Commissioner Ashish Kumar to coordinate rescue efforts in Kathmandu. He also instructed four ministers to liaise with the central government to ensure the safe return and medical assistance for the remaining individuals.
Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge stated, “As per the latest information, approximately 130 to 140 Indians are missing due to the floods in Nepal, but these figures are yet to be confirmed. The government is in contact with the Ministry of External Affairs, which has issued three numbers available on WhatsApp for public convenience. We are still uncertain about how many people from Karnataka are stranded in Nepal. Reports from Belagavi indicate that some individuals may be there, but this has not been verified.”
Minister Priyank Kharge further mentioned, “Two individuals from the Chincholi area of Kalaburagi are stranded in Nepal, and this information has been communicated to our SP. I appeal to the media that if anyone has information regarding our people or those from our state missing in Nepal, please contact the local police station or at least the district SP as soon as possible. If you provide us with information, we will ensure that proper communication channels are opened for their relatives.”
