New Delhi, August 15: CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah has launched a strong verbal attack on the central government, BJP, and RSS. He criticized Prime Minister Modi in light of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s claim that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was facilitated by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Mollah pointed out that Trump has made similar claims repeatedly, and now Pakistan is echoing those sentiments. He questioned the Prime Minister’s silence on this matter.
Mollah sarcastically remarked that with so many voices speaking out, the Prime Minister should clarify his stance. Prolonged silence allows people to interpret the situation in various ways. He claimed that the government has not been transparent about many details concerning the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor. Furthermore, he noted that there has been a lack of clear information regarding the casualties among Indian soldiers during this period. The government’s alleged silence on military operations is also politically impactful.
Responding to BJP National President Nitin Naveen’s accusations against the Nehru-Gandhi family regarding the partition of the country for power, Mollah expressed sharp criticism. He stated that this is an old issue that the BJP keeps repeating. The BJP lacks sufficient achievements to present to the public in support of its governance, leading them to repeatedly raise old topics. He questioned the government on issues like unemployment, education, the Constitution, and social unity.
Mollah emphasized that merely repeating something does not make it true. The public evaluates the government’s performance based on their experiences and events they have witnessed. He noted that emotional appeals are part of political performance. While the Prime Minister often expresses emotions in public, it does not resolve real issues. The country’s progress cannot be attributed solely to one government or era. Much of the existing infrastructure and development has occurred over several decades.
He also accused the government of facing persistent questions regarding the quality of development projects. Mollah reiterated that repeating a falsehood does not make it a truth. The public understands the difference between political claims and reality based on their experiences.
In response to Rahul Gandhi‘s comments about the RSS, Mollah stated that the strength of Indian tradition, particularly Hinduism and Sanatan culture, lies in its diversity. The Sanatan tradition accommodates various deities, scriptures, ideas, and religious practices. The RSS and BJP are attempting to promote a uniform religious and political system. Indian religious tradition cannot be confined to a single leader, religious guru, or text. Its strength lies in its diversity and plurality of ideas.
Regarding Priyanka Kharge’s comments on the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Mollah acknowledged the validity of the question raised. He accused the RSS of having a questionable historical record concerning the freedom movement and the national flag. He claimed that for a long time, the RSS did not accept the national flag and is now conducting a large-scale campaign around it. He remarked that organizations or individuals who have faced criticism on an issue in the past may later attempt to change their image by prominently displaying that very issue.
