Heavy Rains Disrupt Life in Mumbai, Flooding Reported in Several Areas

Mumbai, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Mumbai is facing significant disruptions due to relentless heavy rains affecting the city and its surroundings. Many areas are experiencing flooding, causing difficulties for commuters.

Since Saturday night, heavy rainfall has led to flooding near Nalasopara railway station, forcing passengers to wade through water to reach their destinations. The station area has seen a considerable crowd of travelers.

In Vasai-Virar, heavy rain has persisted since last night. This has resulted in flooding at various locations, including Center Park and Tulinj Bridge in Nalasopara, creating challenges for drivers and pedestrians during morning hours.

Similarly, the Dadar area is also grappling with the effects of the downpour, which has made travel difficult for residents. Additionally, flooding has occurred on the railway tracks at Kurla station due to the ongoing rain.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar for Sunday. The department predicts thunderstorms, light to moderate rainfall, and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h in some areas.

According to the weather department, “Generally cloudy skies are expected, with intermittent moderate rain or thunderstorms possible, along with lightning and strong winds.” There may also be instances of heavy rain in certain locations.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also shared updates regarding Sunday’s weather on social media, emphasizing the likelihood of cloudy conditions and intermittent rainfall.
