Samba, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anuj Kumar led a critical review meeting on Saturday at the District Police Office in Samba. The meeting aimed to assess the current security situation in the district and evaluate the operational readiness of various police units.
Present at the meeting were the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Samba, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bari Brahmana, the DSP Headquarters Samba, the SDPO of Vijaypur, the DSP of the Special Operations Group (SOG) Samba, along with all station house officers (SHOs), PCR in-charge, DSB in-charge, and other key officials.
During the meeting, SSP Kumar stressed the importance of strictly adhering to the standard operating procedures set for village defense committees. He instructed relevant officials to conduct regular firing drills and maintain continuous communication and coordination with the members of the Village Defense Groups (VDGs) to ensure they remain active, trained, and motivated. Additionally, he called for regular firing practice for all personnel at the SOG and border police posts.
Addressing the officials, SSP Kumar reviewed the tactical positions of the fronts, identified sensitive and vulnerable points, and directed necessary corrective measures. He emphasized the need for regular cordon and search operations, long-distance and short-distance patrolling, strengthening checkpoints, and increasing patrols.
He also instructed the strengthening of the security grid around police establishments, security camps, and other critical locations. The PCR Samba in-charge was specifically directed to keep updated contact numbers for all security forces and related agencies. He noted that seamless communication among various agencies is vital for effective coordination and rapid response during emergencies or adverse events.
SSP Kumar highlighted the importance of prioritizing railway security. He urged officials to maintain close coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) to ensure effective security arrangements on railway tracks within their jurisdictions. The meeting also included a detailed discussion on security inputs received from various agencies and senior officials, reviewing strategies to tackle potential challenges.
In conclusion, SSP Anuj Kumar called on all officials to remain vigilant, promote active policing, enhance coordination with various agencies, and be fully prepared at all times operationally.
