New Delhi, August 15: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after complaining of discomfort. In the meantime, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his wishes for the minister’s swift recovery.
Rahul Gandhi took to the social media platform X to share his thoughts, stating, “I have received news about Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda falling ill and being admitted to AIIMS. I wish him a successful treatment and a speedy recovery.”
Earlier, the hospital administration released a health report indicating that Nadda’s condition is now stable, and he is under observation in the cardiology department.
Dr. Professor Reema Dada from AIIMS issued a statement explaining that Minister Nadda was brought to the hospital on the evening of August 13 due to discomfort. Following a thorough examination, which included coronary angiography, his condition was reported as stable, but he remains hospitalized under medical supervision.
JP Nadda oversees both the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in the central government. He has been quite busy in recent weeks, chairing several important meetings related to the health department, reviewing various health programs, and assessing ongoing health projects across the country.
Coronary angiography is a procedure that examines the condition of arteries supplying blood to the heart. It involves inserting a thin catheter through an artery in the wrist or thigh to inject a contrast dye into the coronary arteries. Doctors then use X-ray imaging to check for any narrowing or blockages in the arteries. This test helps diagnose coronary artery disease and determines the need for further treatment, such as medication, angioplasty, or stenting.
