
New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim made a memorable appearance during a dinner at the 18th BRICS Summit held in New Delhi. He engaged with a number of world leaders, including the presidents of Egypt, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan, as well as the UN Secretary-General and the Director-General of the WTO. The discussions focused on global peace efforts and the ongoing geopolitical tensions in Gaza and the broader Middle East.
During the evening, Anwar Ibrahim entertained guests by singing the iconic song “Khwab Ho Tum Ya Koi Haqeeqat” from the 1965 film “Teen Deviyan.” His performance resonated throughout the hall, adding a joyful atmosphere to the event.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Malaysian Prime Minister shared insights from the dinner, stating, “Last night, I had the opportunity to converse with many world leaders and friends during the BRICS leaders’ summit dinner. This included the President of Egypt, the President of Indonesia, the President of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, the UN Secretary-General, and the Director-General of the WTO.”
He emphasized that their discussions revolved around the current geopolitical climate, particularly the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the humanitarian situation, and the escalating tensions in the Middle East. Anwar underscored the necessity for the international community, especially world leaders, to unite in efforts to halt violence and seek lasting, just solutions.
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister noted that when Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi visits Malaysia next month, they will delve deeper into various bilateral issues. He also highlighted conversations with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, where they addressed forest fires and related challenges in the region, stressing the need for consensus and collective action.
Anwar extended another invitation for President Subianto to visit Malaysia soon, aiming to finalize pending bilateral matters between their countries.
