PM Modi Highlights BRICS Achievements, Emphasizes Diversity and Cooperation as Strengths

New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the significance of resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability during the second day of the BRICS summit in New Delhi. He asserted that the true strength of BRICS nations lies in their diversity and mutual collaboration. “Let our diversity define our identity, our cooperation inspire us, and our progress benefit all of humanity,” he stated.

Addressing BRICS members, Modi highlighted initiatives aimed at enhancing employability, women’s empowerment, social security, and capacity building. He announced the launch of the BRICS MSME Corporation Portal to connect small enterprises with knowledge, finance, and new markets. Additionally, a “BRICS Urban Mobility Hub” has been established to facilitate the sharing of best practices among cities.

Modi emphasized the Indian belief that nature is revered as a mother. He noted that for centuries, there has been a conviction that development and environmental sustainability are complementary rather than opposing forces. This principle has also been a focal point for BRICS, balancing human development with environmental concerns, which he described as a responsibility to future generations.

The Prime Minister mentioned the creation of the BRICS Digital Center of Excellence for smart grids and energy storage, aimed at making clean energy systems more reliable and accessible. He also spoke about establishing Centers of Excellence for agro-ecology and regenerative agriculture, which will integrate traditional knowledge with modern science. Community-based climate adaptation strategies will leverage indigenous knowledge as a foundation for climate action.

Modi highlighted that through these four pillars, BRICS aims to foster inclusive global growth. He believes that the solutions developed within BRICS should not only serve its members but also be adaptable and accessible to the needs of the Global South.

“I can personally attest that trust among Global South countries within BRICS has increased, as their voices are heard, their experiences respected, and solutions are co-created,” Modi remarked. He concluded with a call to ensure that diversity remains their identity, cooperation their inspiration, and progress serves all of humanity.
