
Ahmedabad, March 5: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Sardar Unity Yatra organized by the All India Kurmi Patidar Mahasabha in Ahmedabad. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Since 2014, the Prime Minister has initiated the celebration of Sardar Patel’s birthday as National Unity Day across the nation. The construction of the Statue of Unity stands as a fitting tribute to the Iron Man of India.
The Chief Minister noted that this monumental statue has become a symbol of India’s unity and integrity worldwide.
Celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, the Chief Minister remarked that he unified 565 princely states as India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, creating a cohesive nation. The Prime Minister aims to spread Sardar Patel’s ideals and values, striving to make “One India, Great India.” He further stated that the Prime Minister is committed to instilling a “Nation First” spirit in everyone, akin to Sardar Patel’s vision.
The Chief Minister congratulated the organizers for planning to showcase valuable artifacts related to Sardar Patel’s life during this journey across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. He expressed hope that the Yatra would rekindle the spirit of dedication, patriotism, and unwavering unity associated with Sardar Patel.
He urged the public to remain committed to strengthening the nation’s unity and integrity, advocating for the adoption of the Swadeshi mantra. Making Swadeshi a part of life is the need of the hour. Together, he said, we will fulfill the vision of a developed India and build a self-reliant nation, which would be the true tribute to Sardar Patel.
Satish Patel, head of the KP Vidyarthi Bhavan and Yatra organizer, delivered the welcome address. Former minister Gordhanbhai Jhadphia provided detailed insights about the nationwide Sardar Unity Yatra in his speech.
