Preparations Intensify for PM Modis Visit to Sikkim, CM Reviews Arrangements

Gangtok, April 23: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anticipated visit to Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang conducted a thorough review of the preparations on Thursday. He instructed officials to ensure that all arrangements are executed smoothly.

The Chief Minister shared on the social media platform ‘X’ that he inspected the designated event locations alongside cabinet ministers, legislators, the chief secretary, the police director general, and senior officials from various departments.

During this review, the focus was on assessing infrastructure readiness, security measures, and logistical coordination. Tamang emphasized the need for all relevant departments to complete their preparations in a timely and effective manner.

He stressed maintaining high-level security and improving coordination among departments to ensure that events proceed without any disruptions. Additionally, officials were directed to manage crowds effectively and ensure the availability of civic amenities, transportation arrangements, and emergency services.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of close collaboration among civil administration, police, and other agencies to avoid any lapses. Several significant official events are planned during the Prime Minister’s visit, for which the state administration is making extensive preparations. However, the detailed schedule is yet to be released.

Recently, the Chief Minister chaired a high-level meeting at the Sewa Bhawan, where the preparations for the Prime Minister’s proposed visit were reviewed.

Reports suggest that the Prime Minister’s visit may coincide with the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s 50th statehood day celebrations, marking half a century since the state joined India.
